The contents of the now-defunct Dublin Red Lobster goes up for auction. It sold for under $10K

After Red Lobster announced roughly 80 restaurant were closing, every sea-themed piece of decor and professional-grade restaurant equipment there went up for sale.

DUBLIN, Ga. — After Red Lobster announced roughly 80 restaurant closures on Monday, the entire contents of the now-defunct location went up for auction.

Dubbed "the largest restaurant equipment auction ever," every single piece of equipment was up for sale — ranging form high-performance ovens, refrigerators and the restaurant's famous seafaring decor.

The highest bidder even takes home the lobster tank. But to the question of whether or not that includes any remaining lobsters, the auction notes that no perishable goods or alcohol are included the sale.

But for the now-closed Red Lobster in Dublin, one lucky bidder likely got more than they bargained for. The entire contents of the restaurant went for $7,850.

For some items, they retail far above $8,000.

If you want to see the full list of what that lucky-bidder got with their nearly $8,000 investment, you can see the full list here.

The auction comes as the casual sea-food eatery battles debt and the prospect of bankruptcy.

The chain has reportedly lost millions on one of its most famous deal: $20 for endless shrimp. They said that deal was a part of the roughly $11 million loss the chain suffered in its third quarter of 2023.

There is one catch, though. After the auction ended on Thursday, the buyer has to remove every piece of equipment themselves, and every item must be picked up by the end of Friday.
