DUBLIN, Ga. — A Central Georgia Red Lobster was abruptly closed on Monday as the restaurant company struggles with debt and the prospect of a possible bankruptcy filing.
The Red Lobster location in Dublin, located at 2105 Veterans Boulevard, was among the 80 locations listed as "temporarily closed" as the company looks to downsize.
But the location in Dublin is not the only Georgia location to close its doors. The restaurant chain's locations in Roswell outside of Atlanta and its location in Athens were also listed as temporarily closed as well.
The abrupt closure comes as the company seeks a new owner in a last ditch effort to possibly avoid Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The chain has reportedly lost millions on one of its most famous deal: $20 for endless shrimp. They said that deal was a part of the roughly $11 million loss the chain suffered in its third quarter of 2023.
Red Lobster has yet to acknowledge the closures publicly.
This brings the number of locations in Central Georgia down to two. The last remaining locations are in Macon on Riverside Drive and Perry on Sam Nunn Boulevard.
