Domestic violence awareness walk held in Macon

It was held in honor of LaSmockie Fountain, who lost her life to domestic violence.

MACON, Ga. — On Saturday, a walk for Domestic Violence awareness was held in Macon.

It started on Case Street across from Bellevue Baptist Church, and people all walked together while wearing the color purple.

The walk was in honor of LaSmockie Fountain, who lost her life to domestic violence on May 23, 2015.

It was the 7th year anniversary of the walk, and several people got up to speak, recite poems, share stories, and offer encouraging words.

Sheriff David Davis, Da's Office Outreach, Dee Simms, Rebecca Grist, House of Hope Macon , and Pastor JC Howard were all in attendance.
