The Cherry Blossom Festival changes schedule due to weather forecast. Here's how

Because of the weather forecast, they are changing their schedule. Plus, they're extending the hours for the last day of the festivities.

MACON, Ga. — The Macon Cherry Blossom Festival is changing its schedule due to the weather forecast, the festival announced.

They say that their Founders Day celebration is moving to Thursday at noon instead of Friday. Those festivities will take place in Third Street Park. If there are any changes, they will share them on social media, their media advisory says.

Additionally, there are some other changes to the Food Truck Frenzy and the hours for Carolyn Crayton Park for the Cherry Blossom's last day.

They say the food truck frenzy hours, which is scheduled for Sunday, will be held from 10 a.m.. to 7 p.m. That's two more hours than the originally slated hours, which were 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Food Truck Frenzy will take place downtown at Third and Cherry.

Then, for the festival finale, they are extending the hours to 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Carolyn Crayton Park. It was originally scheduled to begin at noon as well.

The festival finale will feature vendors, rides and a firework display, organizers say. They are also having tethered hot air balloon rides if weather permits.

They say any weather announcements or schedule changes will be shared on their social media, their website and the local media.
