List: Central Georgia Thanksgiving giveaways and events for 2022

Thanksgiving is just around the corner; here are some resources to help make it a great holiday.

MACON, Ga. — Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

Here are some events and giveaways in Macon to help you have the best holiday possible.

Giveaways

Abundant Word of Grace Church 

What: Giving away 200 food boxes with everything needed for a Thanksgiving dinner. Drive-thru and walk ups welcomed. 

When: November 22 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. 

Where: 3396 Napier Avenue 

Forrest B. Johnson Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway

When: Wednesday Nov. 23, starts at 11 a.m. and lasts until supplies run out

Where: There are 4 different locations you can go to grab a meal:

  • L.H. Williams Elementary School, located at 322 Pursely St. in Macon
  • Southwest High School, located at 1775 Williamson Rd. in Macon
  • Burdell-Hunt School, located at 972 Fort Hill Street in Macon
  • Unionville Baptist Church, located at 3837 Houston Avenue in Macon

There will be 1000 free meals to give away (250 for each location), and it is first come first serve until supplies last.

Middle Georgia Community Food Bank

When/Where: The food bank releases information each week about when and where the mobile food pantry will distribute. You can check out times by looking at their Facebook page.

This week, the mobile food pantry will be up on Friday, November 18 as follows:

Bibb Co – Beulahland Bible Church: 1010 Newberg Ave, Macon Ga (9am start time)

Pike Co – Pike County Assembly of God: 4990 US-19, Zebulon Ga

Bibb Co – Grace Baptist: 1571 Edna Pl, Macon Ga

Peach Co – Greater Faith Ministries: 901 Tulip Dr., Fort Valley Ga

The schedule for Thanksgiving week has not been posted yet.

Thanksgiving Meal Boxes at GracePointe Community Church  

When: Saturday November 19, beginning at 1 p.m.

Where: GracePointe Community Church of Gwinnett, 311 Oakland Road, Lawrenceville

Families can sign up to go through a drive through and receive a Thanksgiving meal box.

You must register to receive a box. You can register here.

One box per family.

Events

6th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck at Billy's

When: Thursday November 24, from 7 p.m. that night to 2 a.m. the next morning

Where: Billy's Clubhouse in Macon

This is the 6th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck for Billy's, and they hope to bring in even more people this year.

If you bring a dish to the potluck, you can get a free drink at the bar! 

There will also be entertainment, with Man in the boxx for a special Thanksgiving Karaoke night. 

The restaurant said they would appreciate if you'd let them know what dish you will be bringing beforehand, by posting it in the event page. That way they don't have too much or too little of one thing. 

20’s Pub Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner & Music

When: Black Friday, November 25, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next morning

Where: 20's Pub in Macon, 3076 Riverside Dr.

20's will be providing fried turkeys, and would like folks to bring a side dish or dessert tot share with everyone.

Dinner will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and live music from Ground Hum will kick off at 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Free Thanksgiving Kid's Craft

When: November 19 from 1-3 p.m. or until supplies last

Where: Houston County Galleria, 2922 Watson Blvd in Centerville

You can bring the kids to the mall for a free thanksgiving craft! Kids can choose between a hedgehog fridge magnet, a leaf wreath and many more.
