MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in a deputy involved shooting in west Macon earlier this month, a release said.
The shooting happened after 2 a.m. on July 12 near the intersection of Log Cabin Drive and Evers Place.
Deputies initially arrived at Mercer University Drive after they received reports of people pulling on the handles of various cars on the street.
After they tried to talk to the suspect, he shot at one of the Deputies, who returned fire. No one was hurt.
The Sheriff’s office said they’re still trying to identify the man, who is wanted for aggravated assault against a peace officer investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office provided two photos of the man they’re looking for.
One man, Cameron Hudson, 19, was arrested that day. He was charged with multiple charges, including obstruction of officers, theft by receiving stolen property and aggravated assault.
Other than Hudson and the suspect, there was one other person at the scene that morning.
Anyone with more information can call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
