17-year-old arrested after shootout with deputies in Macon

He does not currently have a bond.

MACON, Ga. — A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged after a shooting in Macon on Monday, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. 

The shooting happened inside the 800 block of West Grenada Terrace.

Just after 11 a.m. on Monday, a deputy attempted to pull the person over after a stolen car was discovered by Flock cameras. 

The people inside the car tried to run when deputies attempted to make contact.

One suspect fired at the deputies and the deputies fired shots back and hit the suspect. 

The suspect was then taken to the hospital for treatment. 

On Wednesday, the suspect was identified as 17-year-old Jordan Jamal Rozier of Macon. 

He was arrested after being released from the hospital.

Rozier was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Rozier faces a charge of felony aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer when engaged on official duty.

Rozier currently does not have a bond.

This incident is still being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Internal Affairs Office.
