The shooting happened late Monday night in Macon's Bloomfield neighborhood

MACON, Ga. — New details have emerged after a shooting that seriously injured a one-month-old boy in Macon earlier this week.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the boy remains in a hospital in Atlanta recovering from what they call life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened on Monday night just before midnight near O’Hara Drives North and South in Macon’s Bloomfield neighborhood.

The report says the boy was inside a parked car with three women when they heard a loud pop. One of the women says she heard the baby start crying and saw blood on his car seat. She said saw a bullet wound behind the baby’s ear. A second woman said she saw a man outside the car and was able to identify him to investigators.

Deputing found a bullet hole in the passenger door of the car. Anyone with information is asked to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 1-877-68Crime.
