They say the shooting happened just before midnight near the intersection of O'Hara Drive South and O'Hara Drive North. That is just off of Bloomfield Drive.
Deputies were first notified of the shooting by Atrium Health Navicent Police. Authorities say that the baby was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

They say the child was the only person injured in the shooting.
The shooting is still under investigation, the sheriff's office says. They are still working to determine what led up to the shooting.
