Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on gun charges early Sunday morning.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, Bibb deputies were patrolling the area around Pine Street Lane and Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard just before 1 a.m. on July 7 when they saw a Chevy Silverado driving without headlights on.
They stopped the car and saw three people inside. The release says deputies could smell a “strong odor” of marijuana.
While checking the car, deputies found that a man in the backseat, 38-year-old Orin Kareem Threatt, had a 9 mm pistol. They checked Threatt and discovered that he was a convicted felon.
Threatt was taken to Bibb County jail and charged with possession of a gun by a convicted felon. He was released on a $5,700 bond.
