DUBLIN, Ga. — Restaurants across Central Georgia are finding new, unique ways to serve the community in the midst of COVID-19.
And while curbside pick-up and delivery is all the rage, one local eatery is putting their food service on wheels and bringing it to your neighborhood.
Salsa's Mexican Grill originally bought their food truck in preparation for upcoming festivals and events.
Now they're using it to take their authentic Mexican food across Central Georgia.
"This has been a blessing because we're able to go to different neighborhoods and bring the food to them," says co-owner Raymilia Garcia. "And seeing the response has been very surprising."
Since starting their food truck service, Salsa's has already been booked to stop in different neighborhoods for the next two weeks.
"During this time of coronavirus, it's definitely been harder," says Garcia. "We want to keep all of our employees and having more business means we can create more jobs."
Garcia has operated Salsa's with her husband Eric for almost 10 years, with a location in Dublin and Warner Robins.
In addition to their food truck, Salsa's is also serving their food for delivery and pick-up.
"Food brings out the best in a lot of us," says Garcia. "It's definitely been a blessing to have more business and we we will be out there working everyday."
