WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — While social distancing is still in full force, local businesses and restaurants continue to serve the Central Georgia community.
The doors of Cuban Island Cafe are open for business, serving up authentic South American food in Houston County.
Owners Yolanda Varagas and Martine Uvalle have been cooking their signature Cuban food at the cafe for over five years.
Cuban Island Cafe is open for curbside pick-up, by phone or in person.
Server Jena Spano has seen an outpouring of support from the community.
"We're excited to see our regulars come in and see their faces," says Spano. "We're happy to be here we're very thankful and blessed that we're still able to do that and serve our community."
For Spano, working at Cuban Island Cafe is like working with family.
"I love working here. Our bosses are such hard workers," says Spano. "We're happy and that's the kind of environment and place that I want to work at."
Varagas and Uvalle are still deciding whether or not to re-open their dining services.
To place pick-up orders, you can message them on Facebook, order in person, or call in at 478-225-9490.
Cuban Island Cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 to 8 pm.
They're located at 402 GA Hwy 247 in Bonaire.
