Macon 92-year-old rings in birthday with a saxophone serenade

It was a special day at Alice Place Adult Day Health for a woman administrators say is a very special person, too.

MACON, Ga. — It was a special day for Alma Hardy and the folks at Alice's Place Adult Day Care.

Mrs. Hardy was serenated for her 92nd birthday — by a saxophonist!

"'Oh, she was smiling!" Alice Place owner Patricia Duncan said.  "I told her you're going to be serenated today. She said, 'Oh, really."

Harold Thomas is from the Macon area. He stopped by to pay the birthday girl a visit and play some fun tunes!

Hardy is a long-term resident of Bellevue, and Thomas is also from the area.

It was a surprise celebration for Hardy. She's the oldest client at Alice's Place.

"She is such a joy," Duncan said. "I mean, that's why I wanted to go out for her. She is our oldest client but she is such a pleasure to take care of."

Happy 92nd birthday Hardy. We hope it was a jazzy one!
