PERRY, Georgia — Hugh Hession's love for music started around the age of 5. He started playing the piano before 10 and is still hitting the keys today. Instruments drew his attention to music, and so did the talent.
"Of course, some of the best vocalists to come out of rock and roll," Hession said.
Now, Hession is the vocalist and keyboard player of the five-member Central Georgia group "Rock the '90s."
The group's goal is to take you back to the glory days of guitar-driven Rock with some of your favorite artists, not limited to just one aspect of music back then.
"We're having to perform a lot of different types of bands, singers styles, guitar styles," Hession said.
Even though the band performs older songs, Lewis Smith, guitar player with the band, says all ages seem to connect.
"It doesn't matter how old you are; they seem to know all the words to every song," Smith said.
They've touched the stages from Pennsylvania to Key West Florida. Their next stage will be at the Georgia National Fair this weekend. Still, no matter what stage or state, they have a similar goal for each performance:
"To relive those memories," Hession saif.
