MACON, Ga. — For lovers of art and music, art parties at Triangle Arts Macon are becoming a place for collaboration and creative expression.
"As long as you're creative, as long as you're someone who is positive in your community, we want you here," artist Tiara Ponce said. "If you're a business owner we want you here. We're a bunch of blank canvases."
Ponce is the owner of sip and paint company Tipsy Artz and an event coordinator at Triangle Arts.
Ponce organized the Christmas Rapped Macon Art Party, which featured over 15 local artists on Thursday night.
"You never know who's going to be in the building," Ponce said.
Power 107.1 personality Aaron Daniels, more widely known as DJ AD, has been at every art party hosted by Tipsy Artz.
"Somebody could be here who could change your life," Daniels said. "It's a great time to bond, build on relationships, and establish new relationships."
Tipsy Artz parties give visual and performance artists the chance to network and share new ideas.
"It helps activate that creative mode in your mind and in your heart," Daniels said.
In addition to live performances, the art party also had an art auction and live t-shirt painting. The parties are open to anyone who wants to share.
"We're just trying to bridge the gap through the arts," Ponce said. "You got the rapper standing next to the sketcher, you got the painter standing next to the singer. We got everybody in the building and it works."
The Christmas Rapped Macon Art Party runs from 10 p.m. to 2 am.
You can find Triangle Arts Macon at 206 Lower Elm Street in Macon's industrial district.
