MACON, Ga. — Fellow Central Georgians have been pretty active in the 13WMAZ Weather Network group, so let's see what you've posted.
First up is Amy Smith who sent in a glorious photo, not just from Lake Sinclair but actually on Lake Sinclair. She and her husband were boating and caught this sunset on July 23.
During the evening, as the sun sets, its rays get longer. Because the colors orange and yellow are longer wavelengths, they scatter easily during the dust.
That's why we saw this golden sunset. What a nice way to end a day!
As meteorologists here in Central Georgia, we always talk about pop-up showers and storms in the summer.
Well, Tami Harmon McGraw captured this summertime weather perfectly in Bleckley County.
It wasn't raining where she was but in the distance, you can see rain pouring down on others.
So when we say hit or miss storms, we really mean it.
To round this week's photos, we're right back to those golden skies. This time though, we're taking a mental vacation to be with Cheryl Wells Scrutchins in North Georgia.
Sky Valley is in the North Georgia mountains and obviously has amazing views of the earth and sky.
Thank you to all of you for sharing your photos.
