We're bringing the Storm Lab to you! Weekly recap of meteorologist's visits with the Storm Lab.

MACON, Ga. — With Storm Lab Local, we bring our Storm Lab — to you!

Each Tuesday, one of our meteorologists takes the Storm Lab down to a random small town in Central Georgia. Every week, they highlight the history, fun facts and cool spots to check out in each town.

Oct. 29, 2024 - Gordon

The Storm Lab traveled to Wilkinson County to pay a visit to the City of Gordon! Meteorologist Ansley Parker tells us more about the rich history of this railroad town and all about their impressive manufacturing status. You can also get your details on this weekend's Fall Line Festival taking place in Gordon!

It's an exciting week for Gordon as they gear up for their Fall Line Festival taking place this Saturday! Hear from the Mayor of Gordon and the organizer of the event about what this event means to the City of Gordon and what their favorite parts are.

Aug. 20, 2024 - Roberta

Our Storm Lab is back on the move! This week we traveled to Crawford County to check out a place with a very rich history, Roberta. You may be surprised to find Roberta goes by two names, Meteorologist Ansley Parker tells us more in this week’s edition of Storm Lab Local.

History is only a small part of what makes Roberta unique. The town is full of culture, amazing views, and most importantly—a wonderful community! Meteorologist Ansley Parker tells us more about the small town with a big heart.

Meteorologist David Guerrero heads east to Irwinton as he showcases their fun events offered year-round 

July 16, 2024 - Forsyth

Meteorologist Ansley Parker goes down the road to Forsyth where we take a look at the city's history and its role in the age of the railroad. 

On top of that, Forsyth has its own claim to fame after appearing in some major flicks on the silver screen. But as Ansley Parker shows, that's now where the city's local cultural offerings help make the city sweet.

Meteorologist Alex Pry talks about all the amazing talent and big business happening in Fort Valley. 

June 4, 2024 - Byron

Meteorologist Alex Pry talks about the very unique history of how Byron got its name and some fun facts about its geography.

Byron is home to the old Middle Georgia Raceway, which also hosted the Atlanta International Pop Festival back in 1970. If you want to check out Byron for yourself, there's a local festival this weekend as well full of family fun!

May 7, 2024 - Cordele, GA

Meteorologist Alex Pry took a trip down I-75 to Crisp County. He talks about Cordele's start as yet another railroad town here in central Georgi and also how it was state capital for a few days in the late 1800s.

Cordele is the "Watermelon Capital of the World", but why is that? Alex Pry also highlights the annual Cordele Watermelon Festival and a nearby recreation area, Lake Blackshear.

April 30, 2024 - Cochran, GA

Meteorologist Alex Pry talks about the history of Cochran, GA and how it was founded. Then turning the timeline to today, he highlights Bleckley County's esteemed school district as well a fast-growing local university.

The Annual Cochran Bible Reading Marathon is highlighted at the Bleckley County Courthouse, along with some weather history in Bleckley County and a famous spot for those with the need for speed in Cochran.
