NWS confirms EF-0 tornado along Baldwin/Jones County line

The tornado was on the ground for nearly two miles, and was over a football field wide.

MACON, Ga. — Editor's Note: Video in this story is from the tornado in Twiggs County.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down early Tuesday morning along the Baldwin and Jones County line.

The twister was on the ground for just over 1.75 miles, with a maximum width of 150 yards.

A tornado debris signature was observed on the KJGX radar from Jeffersonville while the tornado was in progress from 6:27 a.m. until 6:31 a.m.

Multiple trees were snapped along Union Hill Church Road and along County Line Road.

The tornado was rated an EF-0 with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph.

It's the second confirmed tornado this week in the area -- the first was in Twiggs County.
