MACON, Ga. — Greetings Central Georgia!
We have a lot going on out there in the tropics as we head toward the peak of Hurricane Season.
For starters, we have three areas of tropical development out in the Atlantic Ocean.
Two of these areas consists of a 20% chance of tropical development over the next 5 days. It is now off the western coast of Africa.
The next area of development is just east of the Caribbean and has an 30 percent chance of development over the next 5 days.
The models show that it will likely head westward towards the Central-Northern Atlantic.
As it continues to journey across the Atlantic, it could become stronger due to the warm waters, but as of now it won't be a threat to the United States.
The last area is that of an actual Hurricane, Earl.
Earl is expected to rotate out in the Atlantic for some time before it continues to head northward doing its own thing.
Right now, none of these areas of development are a threat to the United States, but as always, we will keep you up to date live and on the 13 WMAZ Mobile App.
