TELFAIR COUNTY, Ga. — Hurricane Idalia made landfall on Wednesday morning as a Category 3 Hurricane in Keaton Beach, Florida, just south of Perry, Florida. Idalia had sustained winds of 125 mph upon landfall.
It has since been downgraded to a Category 1 storm and has crossed into Georgia. The impacts of the storm is starting to be felt in Central Georgia as the bands of rain and winds move into our area.

TELFAIR
A tree has fallen on a firefighter in Telfair County, according to EMA director Lee Conner. He said that she has been taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. They have suspended operations for cleaning up down trees until it is safe to do so.
There is a tree on a powerline at 41 White Bluff Rd in Lumber City.
In a Facebook post, the Telfair County EMA said that trees fell down across the county, and it was "wide spread." But the southern end of the county "has gotten hammered" in particular, the Telfair County EMA said.
According to Georgia Power, there are 928 customers without Power in Telfair County as of 3:23 p.m.
The Telfair County EMA also reminds people to treat any power lines as though they are active.

Georgia Power's latest power outage map shows more than 650 people are without power in the Gray and Round Oak area.
DUBLIN
UPDATE: All lanes are reopned on I-16 Westbound before State Route 199 between Dublin and Soperton. They had closed it down due to tree limbs on I-16 Westbound before SR 199, the East Dublin exit, according to Georgia 511. That is now all clear.
MONROE COUNTY
UPDATE: Highway 41 South at Thornton Road has been reopened after to a power line went down across roadway, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. The area is now clear.
