Chilly mornings and cool days as we kick off the weekend

Lows will continue to dip into the 30s for the next few mornings, before afternoons warm up each day

MACON, Ga. — This morning, temperatures are a few degrees below yesterday's lows. Be sure you're bundling up as you head out the door. A steady breeze with some gusts even higher will be the story again this afternoon, but not quite as gusty as yesterday. Highs will only climb into the mid-50s today, making for the coolest high temperature we've seen here since the beginning of the year. Temperatures will begin to drop quickly after sunset, so it will be a chilly night at the football field for teams still playing in the playoffs.

The chilly mornings in the 30s will continue each morning this weekend, but afternoon highs will increase a handful of degrees each day before we're back to the 70s on Monday. Beautiful blue skies will be present all weekend long for some great weather to kick off the week of Thanksgiving.

At the beginning of next week, a front could move in earlier in the week for some slim rain chances. However, the real rainmaker looks to move in later on Thanksgiving Day right now. This is still a week out and subject to change, but you may want to plan on any outdoor celebrations or Turkey Bowl games for the holiday earlier in the afternoon right now.
