SANDERSVILLE, Ga. — 75 employees were inside the Dura-Line plant in Sandersville when a storm ripped through the building, according to manager Russell Sims.
Sims says the storm came through between 9 and 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The plant produces polyethylene pipes.
Warning sirens went off about five minutes before the building was damaged.
Employees hid inside the break room in the middle of the building.
Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran reported two people were injured inside the plant, and a driver of an 18-wheeler near the plant was injured when his truck blew over.
Cochran said none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, but all three people were taken to a local hospital.
Sims said they don't know when they will be back up and running. Over the next few days, they plan to assess the damage and decide on the next steps.
