MACON, Ga. — The remnants of Hurricane Sally swept through Central Georgia on Thursday.
Local EMC's are reporting numerous power outages.
At 5 a.m., the middle district which covers most of the Central Georgia area reports more than 2000 customers are out of power.
The northern district reports more than 2800 are out.
It covers some of northern counties, but also stretches well above Atlanta.

BIBB COUNTY
Nearly 1,000 people experienced power outages on Thursday morning, according to Georgia Power's Outage Map at 5 a.m.
The agency says they're assessing the outage condition.
According to the Macon Bibb 911 center, I-75 is closed at the at the 75 east bound I-16 split. Traffic is being routed from I-75 North onto Hardeman, Forsyth.
EMA Director Spencer Hawkins says their on-call team worked through the night. They’ve dealt with some minor street flooding and some downed trees.
He says most problems are cleared, but they have another crew in to work on any new issues that come up.
HOUSTON COUNTY
There is a major water main break at Peach Blossom Trail and Feagin Mill Road. Houston County 911 dispatch says the break may be contributing to flooding problems there.
It's affecting water service for a large number of people around Sandy Run and Feagin Mill.
There's a two hour delay for Robins Air Force Base employees to get to work Thursday morning, according to the base's Facebook page.
Due to weather flooding, Installation Commander Col. Brian Moore, instituted a two-hour delay for reporting to work this morning starting at 6 a.m.
The post says it's out of an "abundance of caution." Non-mission essential employees do not have to report to work before 8 a.m.
The air force base's Green Street Gate is closed due to flooding until further notice.
According to the Houston County 911 Center, there are several road closures in the area:
- Houston lake at Smithville near Lowe Toyta
- Peach Blossom at Feagin Mill
- Neslon Drive at Corder Road
- 247 North at Bibb County Line
- Watson at Willie Lee (Several cars stranded at businesses tehre)
- Highway 96 at Thompson Mill
- Houston Lake at Centerville Matt King (right at the mall)
- Houston Lake in Perry at Keith Drive and King’s Chappel
- Hwy 96 and Warren Drive
- Old Hawkinsville at Sandy Run
- Indian Forest at Kimberly Road
Several dozen side roads and side streets are closed as well. The north end of the county is seeing the most issues.
Several viewers have contacted 13WMAZ saying there is flooding right by Warner Robins Towing on Elberta road and the road is closed there.
The parking lot of a shopping center on Watson Boulevard is flooded.
Additionally, residents at the Castaways Apartments on Leisure Lake Drive have reported significant flooding. You can see water in an apartment and a completely flooded backyard below:
In a Facebook post, the Perry Police Department said several roads have standing water after the storm:
- Kings Chapel and Houston Lake Road
- Houston Lake Road and Keith Drive
- Perry Parkway in front of the Guardian Centers, Westbound side, right lane
- Complete road blockage at Sandefur Road and Heather Glen Blvd.
- 200 block of Inverness Drive
They're urging folks to use caution while driving.
MACON COUNTY
Georgia 511 says Lanes Closed on Highway 127 in Macon County for flooding as well as Highway 224 near Mennonite Church Road.
MONROE COUNTY
The Georgia Department of Transportation says both lanes of Rumble Road in Monroe County are closed for flooding.
A Facebook post from the county's board of commissioners says Public Works crews were sent to North Rivoli Farms Drive where the road has collapsed. There's a 20-foot deep hole in the ground.
"This is a dangerous situation with electrical wiring and fiber exposed due to the road damage," the post says.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area until the road can be repaired.
In another post, the county says flooding has also caused Old Brent Road, Maynard Church Road, English Road, and Treadwell Road to close.
PEACH COUNTY
Georgia 511 says both lanes or Highway 247 are closed for flooding between Fort Valley and I-75.
All lanes are affected on State Road 49 in both directions due to flooding as well.
WASHINGTON COUNTY
13WMAZ is getting reports of flooding affecting roads in Washington County.
Sheriff Joel Cochran says they have a number of roadways that are impassible.
He says Highway 24 near McCoy Pond Road near Davisboro in Washington County is washed out.
They also have reports of several accidents where water has pushed cars off of roadways.
The school system is stopping the school buses right now so they can assess the situation.
The sheriff is urging people not to go out if possible.
Cochran tells 13WMAZ the superintendent says schools are doing virtual learning only for the day.
Public information Officer Meghan Nugent says if folks have dropped their children off at school already, they can stay there for the day.
