SMITHS GROVE, Ky. — A massive new Buc-ee's is opening in its smallest town yet.
Later this month, Buc-ee's will unveil its newest location in Smiths Grove, Kentucky, which is home to less than 800 people. It will be the smallest city in the country with a Buc-ee's.
The travel center, located on Interstate 65 between Nashville and Louisville, will be 53,000 square feet and offer 120 fueling stations while serving thousands of people daily.
"Smiths Grove may be small, but the community has welcomed us with as much love and enthusiasm as our largest cities, so we're excited to be here and watch this partnership grow," Stan Beard said.
Buc-ee's will operate 50 stores after the opening with more coming soon after Buc-ee's broke ground in Virginia and Mississippi earlier this year. It will also bring 200 jobs to Smiths Grove with the new location.
The Texas-based travel center also plans to build charging hubs at a majority of its locations. Through a partnership with Mercedes-Benz, 31 hubs be available at Buc-ee's across the country by the end of 2024.
