ATLANTA — Hurricane Idalia made landfall on Wednesday morning in Florida's Big Bend region, bringing with it severe conditions to cities such as Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
The storm is expected to pass through south Georgia later today, as well.
Farther north, here in Atlanta, the effect will be more muted - some showers from the very outer bands of Idalia, but we'll be on the drier side of the center of circulation, so impacts will be minor.
But with rough conditions around the region, the impact will be felt somewhat at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
