MCDONOUGH, Ga. — A Laurens County teenager says his father was one of the four victims of Thursday's fiery wreck in Henry County.
Jose Ibarra-Flores told 13WMAZ his father, Jose Ibarra-Yanez, owns a pine-straw company and regularly hauls pine straw to Atlanta.
He said the three other people who died in the wreck were his father's girlfriend and two employees of the company, Jose's Pine Straw.
Ibarra-Flores said authorities notified him Thursday about his father's death. They told him a semi-truck struck his father's pickup and the larger truck burst into flames, he said.
Capt. Joey Smith, public-information officer for Henry County Police Department, would not confirm or deny the victim's name. He said Henry County investigators are still trying to notify the next of kin for all four victims.
Ibarra-Flores said he and a 16-year-old brother both attend West Laurens High School. He said his father came to Georgia from Mexico about 17 years ago.
