MACON, Ga. — All lanes of I-16 west at Martin Luther King Boulevard are shut down due to a car crash Tuesday afternoon, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 website.
They say the crash happened at around 3:48 p.m.
While the site expects all lanes to be reopened by 7:00 p.m., the expected end time is subject to change. Originally, the site expected lanes to reopen at 4:18 p.m.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the original collision happened when an RV collided with an empty 18-wheeler from behind.
None of the passengers suffered life-threatening injuries, though they say one passenger had to be extracted from the RV due to the state of the vehicle.
As of the 6:16 update from GDOT's 511 website, lanes are no longer blocked on I-16.
This is a developing story. 13WMAZ will provide updates as they become available.
