MACON, Ga. — Two major Central Georgia roads are more congested than usual after a crash on I-75 closed all southbound lanes, Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 website shows.
Two crashes took place Monday morning. One on I-75 South, which has since reopened, and the other on Riverside Drive, which closed lanes in both directions.
As of noon, all lanes had since reopened on both Riverside Drive and I-75.
As of 8:15 a.m., all lanes on I-75 were reopened, but the effects are likely to leave roads busier than usual.
Right after the lanes were reopened on I-75, a crash took place on Riverside Drive, which would close all lanes in both directions. It came as Riverside Drive was carrying a heavier load since authorities were rerouting traffic onto Riverside Drive.
The Riverside Drive crash happened at around 8:17 a.m., 511 shows. The crash on I-75 happened 3:45 a.m. and closed all southbound lanes.
Right now, there is little information about the nature of the crash and whether any injuries have been reported.
