Arguably one of the most important events in the history of the Internet took place 10 years ago Thursday: the first video was uploaded to a fledgling website called YouTube.
The video titled "Me at the zoo" features YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim taking a trip to the zoo. The clip was uploaded on the website weeks before YouTube would be made available to the public in May 2005.
Fast forward to today and YouTube is pretty much the go-to destination for all Web videos. The service, owned by Google, boasts 1 billion users uploading 300 hours of video a minute.
And there have been some great moments during YouTube's 10-year run. Here are a couple of our favorites.
