Mike Tyson is set to fight YouTuber Jake Paul in North Texas. When was the last time Tyson fought?

If you take Tyson's exhibition matches into account, he last stepped foot in a ring in 2020. But his last professionally sanctioned bout was nearly 20 years ago.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Editor's note: The video published above is an interview WFAA conducted with Jake Paul ahead of his boxing match against Nate Diaz in Dallas.

This summer, all eyes will be on North Texas when YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul steps in the ring with “Baddest Man on the Planet,” Mike Tyson.

The fight will stream exclusively on Netflix, becoming the platform's third live sports event, following The Netflix Cup and The Netflix Slam

Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) will take on Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) on Saturday, July 20 at the 80,000-seat capacity stadium in North Texas.

When was Mike Tyson's last fight?

This depends on how you look at Tyson's boxing career. If you look at exclusively his professional boxing matches, Tyson hasn't fought a sanctioned fight since 2005, a corner retirement loss to Kevin McBride, back when Tyson was 38 years old.

However, Tyson fought an exhibition match in 2020, when he was 54 years old, against a 51-year-old Roy Jones Jr. The Tyson-Jones fight ended in a split draw. Ironically enough, this fight card also featured Paul, who fought NBA star Nate Robinson.

When was Jake Paul's last fight

Paul's last boxing match was earlier this past weekend, a first-round knockout against professional boxer and Golden Glove winner Ryan Bourland. The 27-year-old Cleveland native has amassed a 9-1 professional boxing record, fighting professional athletes, other celebrities, and more recently, professional fighters.
