Here's how much it'll cost you to lock in priority access tickets to the Super Bowl in Atlanta

The exciting announcement was made official on Tuesday after about a month of speculation that Atlanta would get the Super Bowl back in 2028.

ATLANTA — The Super Bowl is coming back to Atlanta in four years, and if you're looking to head to the big game, be ready to open your wallet up.

The exciting announcement was made official on Tuesday after about a month of speculation that Atlanta would get the Super Bowl back in 2028. NFL owners were in the city for their fall league meeting, where they voted for future host cities.

“This is a tremendous honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be selected as host for Super Bowl LXII," Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank said. "Mercedes-Benz Stadium was built to host the world’s largest sporting events, and I know I speak for many when I say we are honored to bring it back to Atlanta in 2028 and build off the success of Super Bowl LIII in 2019."

But before you get your hopes up about potentially going to one of the biggest annual sporting events in the world, let's talk about pricing.

The Falcons' website shows that priority access tickets are starting at $2,500 per ticket -- and that's just to secure your spot. Now, if you decide you want to pay the deposit and later choose you don't want to keep it, that $2,500 is fully refundable.

However, if you decide you want to keep your tickets, that several-thousand-dollar deposit will be applied to the total sum of whatever ticket package you decide to choose.

Here's an example for you: Say you send in your $2,500 deposit, and you want to purchase priority access Super Bowl tickets that cost $4,000 in total. You would then need to pay an extra $1,500 for the tickets, as the $2,500 deposit would go toward those tickets now.
