JONES COUNTY, Ga. — The world is still reeling after the loss of NBA great Kobe Bryant.
In Central Georgia, players and coaches are back on the basketball floor after the weekend, including the Jones County Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds are still in the hunt for good seeding in the region 4A-5A standings before the tournament.
They are 7-6 in region play and were prepping for their final regular season game Tuesday night.
Coach Buck Harris said he knew Kobe's death hit his guys hard, and he sent a text around to his players reminding them that the thing that made Bryant great was his competitive fire.
"That's one of the things I told my players that, 'If you want to do something for Kobe, as a high school basketball player, you can compete every day -- not just one day, every day," Harris said.
Greyhounds guard Chaydon Stone said, "I think it hit everybody in a different way -- make them work harder at what they can do, be great as a whole team, come together."
The Greyhounds will be at home Tuesday. A win can snag them a third place seeding before the region tournament.
