6 Georgia Bulldogs featured in opening EA Sports College Football 25 top-100 player rankings

The Bulldogs have six players ranked in the top 100, and four in the top 20 for the much-awaited college football video game release.

ATHENS, Ga. — The top 100 players in EA Sports College Football 25 were announced Tuesday, and the University of Georgia was heavily represented. The upcoming video game is the franchise’s first release since 2013, and Georgia looks to feature prominently in the game.

The absence has increased demand for the game for many fans. When the trailer was first released on social media in February, it received nearly 100,000 likes on X, formerly Twitter. Since then, the game has slowly been releasing select details to build anticipation for the newest installment of the franchise.

EA has announced details about game modes - such as franchise mode, where you choose a team to play as and lead them to glory - gameplay details, commentary teams and more. Now, they've dropped their first player rankings for the game, a list of the best players in College Football 25 based on both past performance and a projection for their play going forward.

Georgia’s six players in the top 100 are tied with Alabama for the second most of any team. Ohio State is the only team ahead of them, and the Buckeyes have eight players in the opening rankings. These are the Bulldogs who made the cut for the top 100.

No. 99: tight end Oscar Delp

Oscar Delp’s 90 overall rating in College Football 25 was just enough to warrant inclusion in the top 100 list, sliding in at No. 99. The junior has played in 27 games during his college career, catching 29 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns.

Delp has played behind Brock Bowers for his entire career, learning from the best tight end in program history. Now leading the tight-end depth chart, Delp has a chance to earn his spot in the top 100 when the 2024 season rolls around. Delp is the fifth-highest rated tight end in CFB 25’s opening ratings.

No. 48: left guard Dylan Fairchild

Sophomore Dylan Fairchild was Georgia’s second player in the top 100, opening the ratings at 91 overall. Fairchild started 10 of Georgia’s 14 games last season, offering up valuable reps when Georgia’s offensive line depth was tested.

The Bulldogs’ offensive line was the runner-up to the Joe Moore award last season, an honor given to the best offensive line in college football. With Fairchild returning, Georgia has a shot to make another run at the title. Fairchild was in a four-way tie for the highest-rated left guard in CFB 25.

No. 20: outside linebacker Mykel Williams

A two-year starter at Georgia, Mykel Williams was rated a 93 overall in College Football 25’s initial set of rankings. Williams has recorded 13 tackles-for-loss and nine sacks over 28 games in his career, starting each game since the start of his freshman year.

With Georgia losing another handful of defenders to the 2024 NFL Draft, Williams is primed to become a leader of the defense, and potentially the next in a long line of dominant Georgia outside linebackers. Williams was the second-highest rated outside linebacker in CFB 25’s opening ratings, only behind Clemson’s Barrett Carter.

No. 18: quarterback Carson Beck

Carson Beck is Georgia’s third-highest-ranked player in CFB 25’s rankings, also sporting a 93 overall. Beck just finished his first season as Georgia’s starting quarterback and led the Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season.

Beck led the SEC with 3,941 passing yards last year, while also throwing 24 touchdown passes and only six interceptions. He’s tied with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders - the son of former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Deion Sanders - for the best quarterback in the game.

No. 10: right guard Tate Ratledge

Senior Tate Ratledge is one of the most tenured players on the team, as one of the few players to debut for Georgia during the 2020 season. His 95 overall rating is first among all right guards in College Football 25’s initial ratings.

Ratledge has started both of the past two seasons for Georgia, and has been a steady hand in the middle of a Georgia offensive line that has gone through a lot of change. The offensive line was the runner-up for the Joe Moore award in both of Ratledge’s seasons as a starter.

No. 7: free safety Malaki Starks

Georgia’s highest-ranked player in College Football 25 is junior safety Malaki Starks. Starks started all 29 games over his first two seasons, racking up 120 total tackles and five interceptions.

Starks, a consensus First Team All-American in 2023, is another player who is poised to step up on the defense after the secondary lost talent to the NFL. He’s tied for the highest-rated safety in College Football 25, tied only with Ohio State’s Caleb Downs.
