MACON, Ga. — It was a wet, rainy, intense week of high school football.
While a few teams like ACE and West Laurens blew out their opponents, many others faced one-score battles that came down to the wire.

Game of the Week: Dodge County vs Vidalia
Dodge County had an incredible start to the season, but it wasn’t going to be easy to remain undefeated.
The Indians had to face the 3-1 Vidalia Indians to keep their undefeated streak. They managed to squeak out a win in a game with no breathing room.
Dodge County won 13-7.
Dodge County running back Duke Johnson was crucial for the Indians in this matchup. He scored both touchdowns and helped his team survive the wet and rainy conditions both teams suffered through.
Johnson first reached the endzone with six minutes left in the second quarter. He didn’t find the endzone again until the fourth quarter with only eight minutes left.
Vidalia might’ve won this game if not for the Dodge County’s defense, which was key in this matchup. They shut out Vidalia until the second half.
Dodge County kept the pressure on Vidalia’s quarterback all game, including netting a sack and a turnover on downs.
Even after Dodge County missed an extra point and left the door open for Vidalia to win the game, they shut down Vidalia’s offense and claimed their fourth straight win of the season.
Three Stars
Ashley Henderson, Jasper County head coach - It was a nailbiter for the Hurricanes on Friday. Henderson and Jasper County battled tooth and nail and took a win over Jackson.
While the win wasn’t a massive blowout, or even a dominant performance, it showed fight from a team that’s rallied back from an early season loss to Taylor County in the first week of the season.
Henderson claimed his 455th win as a head coach and has his team with a 3-1 record. The Hurricanes will have more tests further in the year, but this win was key going forward.
Noah Clark, Perry defensive lineman - Perry was dominant in its 38-0 shutout against Veterans. The offense was unstoppable, but a large part was thanks to Clark and the Panthers’ defense, which kept giving the ball back to its offense.
Clark got his hands up and batted down what seemed like every pass the Warhawks quarterbacks attempted to throw. Clark and his teammates also brought plenty pressure to all three of them as well.
Many others made plays for Perry, but Clark’s consistency and dominance at the line of scrimmage set the tone for the game and helped his team claim and strong victory.
Wade Register, punter/kicker for Trinity Christian - It’s easy to give a shout out to the full Trinity Christian team. Their offense put up 43 points and their defense kept Windsor to 14. However, the unsung heroes deserve a shoutout, and Wade Register certainly deserves his flowers.
The Kohl’s kicking camp’s No. 1 punter and No. 26 kicker in the 2026 class has been key for a Trinity Christian team that’s impressed all season. His punts have placed the Crusaders opponents in rough positions and he’s made his kicks consistently, including three in this game. He even nailed a nearly 50 yard kick.
While Register is one of the more recognized special teams players in the country, he still deserves a shoutout for great play this season and in Trinity Christian’s 43-14 win over Windsor Academy.
