FFN Roundup: Warner Robins secures back-to-back big wins in Houston County, Central Georgia offenses score big

Here's a breakdown of the top games and performances during Week 4 of Football Friday Night

MACON, Ga. — Teams battled all night for a chance to claim another win during Week 4 of the high school football season.

While some teams kept their undefeated records, others' perfect seasons came to a close.

Here’s a full roundup of scores and highlights from the teams around Central Georgia.

Game of the Week

Both Warner Robins and Houston County came into this game with plenty of momentum.

The Bears were still undefeated after taking down Perry last week, defeating the former state champs on the road.

Warner Robins, meanwhile, took down its rival Northside last week in dominant fashion and had plenty of momentum despite losing its Week 1 matchup.

Ultimately, after a back-and-forth offensive battle, the Demons came out on top 54-44.

Warner Robins quarterback Skyler Williams was on fire all night. He finished the game with four total touchdowns, with three of those coming on the ground. He ran for 174 rushing yards and had 153 passing yards for 327 total yards on offense.

Rasean Dinkins was also key for the Demons, as his two touchdowns, which included a nearly 90-yard kick return touchdown, kept Warner Robins in control of the lead.

Williams helped get Warner Robins up to an early 10-3 lead, however two touchdown passes from Antwann Hill Jr. helped the Bears retake the lead. A rushing touchdown from Javien Durham only extended that lead further to 24-13 in the third quarter.

A combined effort of Williams and Dinkins got Warner Robins back up, but Hill and tight end Gavin Kurpis connected to take a 31-27 lead towards the start of the fourth quarter.

Dinkins answered right back with a kick return touchdown to retake the lead once again 33-31.

From there, both teams exchanged the lead four different times, which ended when Williams found the end zone once again to take a 47-44 lead.

Running back Da’veon Latimore iced the game with a 20-yard rushing touchdown, and five-star Georgia commit Isaiah Davis finished the game out by sacking Hill to end the game.

Williams and Dinkins were stellar all day, but Hill and the rest of the Bears played just as well. While the Demons came away victorious, both teams impressed and showcased themselves as potential postseason contenders.

Three Stars

Kipp Burdette, West Laurens head coach: Burdette and the Raiders are having a strong start to their season.

After three games, West Laurens surged ahead with three wins and remains undefeated.

Burdette, who went 1-9 and 2-8 the previous two seasons, have the Raiders with an undefeated record thanks to a slight 28-27 victory over Rutland.

It’s unclear how the season will go from here, but the Raiders have a great shot at a winning record since 2019, where they went 11-2 under former head coachKagan McClain.

Hancock-Central: It was a rough Week 3 for Hancock-Central.

The Bulldogs lost late against Lake Oconee Academy 48-44 in a nailbiter. However they came back with a vengeance in Week 4.

They didn’t just win, they crushed Josey 76-6 en route to a dominant victory.

Hancock-Central hadn’t scored over 70 points since 2020, which was their best season since the 1960’s. While head coach Brandon Nolley likely won’t break records this season, he has his team moving in the right direction in his first season at the helm.

Dublin’s offense: The Fighting Irish offense just can’t stop scoring.

Head coach Roger Holmes has his team rolling to a 4-0 and a lot of that is due to his offense and an intense running game.

Xavier Bostic, Willie Batts, Micah O’Neal and Travion Bostic all entered Week 4’s matchup against Washington County with over 200 yards each. The team itself had 21 rushing touchdowns and 1,269 rushing yards coming into the game. The group itself hasn’t scored less than 40 points this season and have scored an insane 212 points this season after only four games.

The defense has allowed 81 points, but if the unit can put up another shutout performance like they did in their 49-0 shutout against Washington County, the Fighting Irish could have a strong postseason run.
