FFN Roundup: Westside clinches playoff spot, ACE upsets Spencer

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from around Central Georgia.

MACON, Ga. — The 12th week of Football Friday Night is in the books. This week offered up some big upsets, a couple of nail-biters, and a region showdown with Westside and Howard competing for a playoff spot.

Here is a look at a roundup of scores and highlights from around Central Georgia:

Game Of the Week:

Westside 27, Howard 21

Howard looked to be in total control of this game with a two-score lead but the Seminoles would not be denied. They staged a late comeback to take home the win over the Huskies. This locked them into a playoff spot as the No. 3 seed in the division behind Spalding and Perry. Baldwin meanwhile settles for the No. 4 seed with its 20-19 win over Howard a few weeks ago proving to be the difference for them.

Three Stars

ACE: Coach Hatcher and company are heading to the playoffs! They will do so with some momentum too after upsetting the region champions in dramatic fashion. It has to be a big confidence booster for them heading into the playoffs.

JMA: The Trojans have hit the big SIX ZERO. That is 60 wins in a row. It is the stuff of legend. Head Coach JT Wall has built an absolute powerhouse. Congrats on another perfect regular season but obviously the state title is the goal once again.

Westfield: Big win for Coach Chad Campbell knocking off another top contender in the GIAA in St. Anne-Pacelli. This is arguably the biggest win for Westfield in awhile. The Hornets will carry some momentum as a program moving forward with this one.
