Top Central Georgia high school football games to watch in Week 6

The sixth week of Football Friday Night is here, and we’ve got a slate of Central Georgia teams set to go head-to-head. Here are the games we’re keeping an eye on.

MACON, Ga. — The sixth week of Football Friday Night is here with a slate of Central Georgia teams going head-to-head. Here are the games we’re keeping an eye on in Week 5:

Northside vs Peach County (TAILGATE 13)

Northside’s offense is going to be facing double trouble on Friday when they face off against Peach County’s dynamic duo.

Quarterback D.J. Hudson has thrown for over 800 yards of offense this season, and his brother Zion has recorded nearly half of that total in receiving yards.

They’re 3-1 this season, and looking to take down the visiting Northside Eagles. The Eagles have lost both of their past two games, and they’ll need to recover quickly if they want to shut down the Peach County offense.

Northeast vs ACE

While the Trojans attack through the air, the Northeast Raiders prefer to focus their offense on the ground.

Running back Nick Woodford and quarterback Reginald Glover have combined for nearly 1,000 rushing yards this season, and they’re 3-1 as a result.

ACE is also 3-1 this year, and they’ve been scoring in bunches. Their offense has put up at least 28 points in every game this season, but the real test will be if their defense can contain Woodford and Glover on the road against Northeast.

West Laurens vs Harlem

After a few tough seasons, the West Laurens Raiders are undefeated in 2024 - though it will be a challenge to keep that unbeaten record when the 3-0 Harlem Bulldogs come to town.

Harlem has come away with a pair of close victories in their games, while West Laurens has mostly dominated the competition.

This will be the Raiders’ biggest test yet, and it could help the team build momentum as they look to return toward the rest of the regular season.
