The team introduced 5th overall pick Trae Young as well as their other two first round selections to the media Monday at the Hawks' practice facility. The Hawks acquired Young via trade after sending their third overall pick Luka Doncic to the Dallas Mavericks for a 2019 first round pick.
Joining Young at the press conference was the sharp shooter from Maryland Kevin Huerter, the 19th overall pick and the 30th overall pick from Villanova Omari Spellman.
The trio fielded questions about their expectations for this season, and how they feel they can make an immediate impact.
"I just see myself as a play maker not necessarily just leaning one way either scoring or assisting. I see myself as making plays and that's how my game has always been, and it just so happens that I led the country in points and assists but I just try to make the right plays score when I need to go, get my teammates involved when I need to," Young said.
