MACON, Ga. — After a string of break-ins at players' homes over the past two weeks, the NFL is warning players and teams about the increasing prevalence of organized break-ins.
The league issued a "security alert" to team security directors and the players union, and NFL.com reports that it is believed the break-ins are tied to a South American crime syndicate. They say that at least one current NFL player's home was broken into the past week.
The league's news arm said that there were break-ins at homes for people like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in Kansas City, but the break-ins are nationwide and also target players in the NBA as well.
They say that the league recommended players not post in real-time on social media, install security systems and keep valuables out of sight.
