ATHENS--- Former University of Georgia fullback Jimmy Womack died Tuesday morning from complications following surgery.
He was 56. Womack, a native of Warner Robins, Ga., and graduate of Warner Robins High
School, helped lead the Demons to an undefeated state championship in 1976 while rushing for more than 14 hundred yards.
While in Athens, he was a four-year letterman for the Bulldogs from 1977-80. During his career, he played in 41 games. He rushed
for a career total of 1,031 yards and four touchdowns on 246 carries. He also caught 11 passes for 150 yards. He started all 12
games for the Bulldogs during the 1980 undefeated national championship season in 1980.
