Coursey to D-League Select for Vegas NBA Summer League

Over the past week Coursey has been a member of the Orlando Blue, the top summer league team of the Orlando Magic.
Former Mercer men's basketball standouts Langston Hall and Daniel Coursey have each agreed to terms with NBA teams to compete in the annual NBA Summer Leagues.

MACON, Ga. – Mercer University men's basketball alum Daniel Coursey has been selected to play on the D-League Select squad in Las Vegas for the Samsung NBA Summer League from July 10-20.

The D-League Select is scheduled to play three games in Las Vegas. The squad opens up play on Friday, July 10 against the Houston Rockets at 10 p.m. ET. The D-League Select then takes on the Washington Wizards on Sunday, July 12 at 4 p.m. and wraps up on Monday, July 13 against the Atlanta Hawks at 6 p.m.

The Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas will be televised live on NBA TV, while fans are also able to watch every game live on NBA.com and on the NBA Game Time app.

Over the past week Coursey has been a member of the Orlando Blue, the top summer league team of the Orlando Magic. The Savannah, Ga., native has played in one game so far with the Magic, recording four points on 2-for-4 shooting, and adding three rebounds in over 21 minutes of action.

Coursey will wrap up his time with the Orlando Blue on Thursday, July 9 with an early afternoon tip at 1 p.m. against the Indiana Pacers.

The stop in Las Vegas will be Coursey's third NBA Summer League appearance, after competing for the Boston Celtics last summer and the Orlando Blue this summer.

The 2013-14 Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Year averaged 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game to lead the Bears to the 2013-14 A-Sun title and the program's first ever NCAA Tournament victory with an upset of Duke.

He is the second Mercer men's basketball alum to make headlines as a professional in the last week, as his former teammate Langston Hall signed with Italy's Serie A member, Pallacanestro Cantu earlier this month.

The Orlando Pro Summer League will also be televised live on NBA TV, while fans are also able to watch every game live on NBA.com and on the NBA Game Time app.
