Yellow Jackets descend on Dublin for season opener with Florida State

Fans are beginning to arrive in Ireland for the AerLingus College Football Classic.

DUBLIN, Ireland — Yellow Jackets are beginning to descend on Dublin, Ireland ahead of the college football season opener on Saturday in the Irish capital between Georgia Tech and Florida State.

AerLingus, the national air carrier of Ireland, posted Wednesday that fans from both schools are beginning to "touchdown" in Dublin (get it?) for the AerLingus College Football Classic that'll be played August 24 at Aviva Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Tech football team is expected to land on Thursday in Dublin ahead of the game.

Coach Brent Key dismissed concerns about the time change -- Dublin is five hours ahead of Eastern Time -- noting that players are already staying up all night playing the new EA Sports College Football 25 game.

"They're 18, 20, 22 years old man... we make way more of that than it really is," Key said of players possibly losing sleep with the time change. "These guys go out, they play the game all night long, and they come practice all day and they do it over again."

Dublin time, he joked, "might actually be on their schedule."

There are numerous events in Dublin planned over the next few days, laid out at the game's website here.
