MACON, Ga. — The Macon Bacon's baseball season is now in full swing with the Coastal Plain League team home opener against the Florence Redwolves.
With their second season now underway, the team is excited to unveil a variety of new improvements to Luther Williams Field.

“It’s really important that we listen to our fans,” said Macon Bacon president Brandon Raphael. “We had a survey at the end of the year that asked what we can do to improve the ballpark. For us, everything is about the entertainment.”
Improvements to Luther Williams Field range from new signs and cosmetic touch ups, to bigger changes to enhance the fan experience.
Fans can enjoy refreshments from the field’s new Macon Beer Garden and Plantation Rum Tiki Bar. Macon-inspired craft beers and frozen margaritas are only some of the new additions to the menu.
“We have 32 new food and drink options available on the menu, which is of course is going to have loads of bacon,” said Raphael.
On weekends, Raphael says that the Macon Beer Garden will host acoustic music performances. The Macon Bacon also made sure to provide plenty of entertainment for younger fans.
Luther Williams Field will also have a Game On Training Kids Zone next to the tiki bar. The play area has a playground and batting cages where kids can play wiffle ball and see how fast they can pitch.
“When the fans get here until the moment they leave, we want to make sure they have a smile on their face,” said Raphael. “If you want to sit and watch the baseball game, that’s great, but there are so many areas for you to go.”
With these new improvements up and running, the Macon Bacon are ready to play ball.
