GEORGIA, — If you are a loyal Peach Pass user, you might need to make some changes to avoid getting an unintended violation.
The State Road and Tollway Authority is making some big changes they say will enhance the driver's experience: they'll be launching a new app and website for Peach Pass users.
While they say these changes will enhance drivers' experiences, the shift over requires some action on the part of customers ahead of time — and after — the transfer takes place.
Here's a look at what the State Road and Tollway Authority is recommending ahead of the shift, so you don't get caught with unexpected violations.
Customer service/account access blackout
Peach Pass customers and Peach Pass customer services will not have access to their accounts between Dec. 12 to Dec. 16. That's when their account information will be transferred to the new Peach Pass Platforms.
What you need to know:
- Ensure you have adequate funds to cover any trips, since fees will continue to be charged.
- By Dec. 11, make sure that you have updated all your contact and email information before the shift occurs.
Both customers and Peach Pass will not have any access to their information or accounts, so they encourage you to prepare ahead so that you're not caught without enough funds or incorrect contact information during and after the shift.
During the transfer, the customer service and phone lines for Peach Pass will be suspended.
Additionally, Peach Pass Plus and its access to airport parking will also be out of service during the transfer. Their website and all "digital platforms" will also be inaccessible during the data transfer.
What happens after the transfer?
If you have the Peach Pass Go! 2.0 app, your old app will soon be phased out.
After the switch over, you'll need to uninstall the current "Peach Pass Go! 2.0" app and download the new version, which has the same name "Peach Pass Go!" That will launch on the app stores on Dec. 17.
The old app will become nonfunctional, and the new one will be the new hub for all payment and account management.
They recommend downloading the new app as soon as it becomes available on the app stores.
What happens to your log-in information?
Your user name and login will be the same after the transfer, which also includes your existing Peach Pass Pin.
If you have multiple accounts, you will need separate logins with different user names for each account.
Updates for car-pool users
If you carpool along the I-85 Express and I-85 extension Express lanes, you will no longer be able to declare your "non-toll mode" for carpooling.
Instead, starting on Monday, the only way to declare your carpool status is the Peach Pass Verify Mobile App. They say that will be the only way to access the carpooling benefits.
What else to know about the Peach Pass update
There are other updates that you may need to be aware of.
Peach Pass says their automatic account replenishment service will require a credit card or debit card. This loads funds based on usage totals, but it is something people can opt out of.
You will only be able to make payments that are enough to bring an account into good standing or if "it exceeds the threshold amount."
