GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing an officer-involved shooting in south Hall County.
Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Mitchell says officers were responding to a report of an armed man injuring three people early Sunday morning. Mitchell says the man, whom authorities believed was holding a sword or machete, ran toward officers with the weapon after being ordered to drop it.

The identity of the 27-year-old man has not been released, but authorities say he'll likely be charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and obstruction.
The officer who fired the shot has been put on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol in police-involved shootings.
