ATLANTA — Six Georgia farms will be receiving between $190,000-$250,000 in grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Georgia's two Democratic senators announced on Tuesday.
The offices of Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff said the money had been procured through the USDA Value-Added Producer Grant program, which will help the farms "generate new products, create and expand marketing, and boost income."
The grants will go to farms that supply a range of agricultural products, including pecans, cattle, poultry, beef and vineyards.
“Senator Reverend Warnock and I are delivering these resources to support Georgia’s farmers and will continue working every day to support Georgia’s agricultural community,” Sen. Ossoff said in a statement.
His counterpart Sen. Warnock added, "“These latest investments across Georgia will help our farmers and producers thrive while strengthening Georgia families’ access to fresh food. Senator Ossoff and I remain committed to delivering for Georgia’s agriculture community.”
These are the six farms, much they're receiving and what the purpose of their grant is for:

- Mill Creek Farms, Bulloch County: $250,000 for processing and packaging pecans
- White Oak Pastures, Clay County: $250,000 for processing and packaging beef and chicken
- Muscadine Products Corporation, Irwin County: $250,000 for processing red and white muscadine grapes into wine
- Pecan Nation, Peach County: $250,000 for processing and packaging pecans
- Crane Creek Vineyards, Towns County: $224,000 for expanding the existing wine market and creating jobs
- Blue Jay Cattle, Brantley County: $192,500 for processing beef.
