Cold Case Files | Sabrina Long's mother speaks about her 1991 disappearance

Sabrina Long went missing in 1991 and five years later, her mother spoke about her disappearance

Back in summer 1991, Sabrina Long went missing and the case was cold up until late 2018.

With Tuesday's announcement that the woman charged with her disappearance was indicted on murder charges, we dipped into our archives and recovered our original 1996 interview with her mother, Sue Corley.

"It's one of those mom things mama's feel and in my heart I don't think she's alive," she said.

Even though Sue Corley didn't believe she'd see her 19-year-old daughter again, she did believe that her wish of finding her would come true.

"[I want to] find out what's happened and put it to rest and have some type of closure," she said. "Not knowing will drive you nuts. It will eat at you every day."

Corley says the pain of each passing day gave her strength to look toward the future, rather than dwell on the past.

"I have a life beyond all this, and I don't have any choice but to go on and do everything like I do normally," she said. "But it never leaves you. It never, never leaves you."

And now, nearly 30 years later, a former Macon woman has been charged with her daughter's murder.
