Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee was in Central Georgia to campaign for Republican Senate candidate David Perdue.
They toured the state together by bus Friday and rallied supporters in Perry.
Perdue and Democrat Michelle Nunn are running a close race.
Right now, Perdue has a slight lead that he's looking to maintain in these final days before the election.
"David! David!" chanted the crowd.
More than 100 people gathered outside of Brannen Outfitters to hear Perdue talk about the issues.
"We have a full blown crisis right now," says Perdue. "We need to change directions. My opponent is going to be a rubber stamp for this current direction and President Obama and Harry Reid."
One of his supporters is Mike Huckabee.
"If he doesn't get this Senate seat, it's not just about Georgia," says Huckabee, a pickup truck tailgate serving as his stage. "It's about America."
The former presidential primary candidate turned talk-show host said Perdue's values make him ideal for office.
"David Perdue represents everything we need in the U.S. Senate," Huckabee said, "People who have lived a good, decent, successful life, who understands the realities of the real world. He's not a Washington guy. He doesn't live in that bubble.
"He believes like you do. He believes America shouldn't spend money it doesn't have or borrow money it can't afford to pay back."
It's imperative that we elect him," says supporter Kathy Evans, a former nurse.
Joe Smith, who used to work for the Houston County school board, has known Perdue since he was just a high-school student. He thinks Perdue's goals align with his own.
"He believes we should protect the border. He believes we should look after veterans. He believes that we should have a strong defense," says Smith.
Doug Sleeth, a business owner, thinks Perdue has the potential to make real change.
"The president is an important figurehead," he says, "But it's the senate and the house that make the laws and pass the laws."
"He's a hometown boy." says voter, Tyler Bryant. "And he is someone who encourages people to get involved in the process."
Perdue emphasizes the need, for what he sees, as much needed change.
"Our message is resonating that the people of Georgia need better out of Washington. It's broken."
"The U.S. Senate needs David Perdue," Huckabee says.
Perdue says their plan until election day is to encourage people to get out and vote.
"The biggest voter fraud is when people don't show up," adds Huckabee.
