How to check where your polling place is?
The Georgia MyVoter page requires just a small amount of information to help you figure out your polling place.
All you have to do is go to this page right here (or mvp.sos.ga.gov).
On the page, you're asked just to provide a small amount of information: your first initial, last name, county and date of birth.
Once that's all been filled in, you just press submit.
While the top of the page offers details about your voting status, if you scroll down you'll see a section titled "Polling Information," which includes information about your polling place.
There, you can find your polling place, its hours on election day and its address.
The website will even help you get directions to the precinct based on the address you used to register to vote.
How to check what will be on your ballot?
Georgia's My Voter Page offers a lot more than just information and directions to the polls.
After filling out the information on the My Voter Page, you can also check what will be on your ballot ahead of time.
In the personal information section, there is a button at the bottom that says "View my Sample Ballot."
When you click that button, a sample ballot will appear, showing you what questions will be on your ballot on election day. This allows you to research the races ahead of time so you can head to the polls informed.
Voting FAQs: What do you need to bring
In order to vote, Georgia Law requires you to have a valid photo ID on you before casting your ballot.
That can be a driver's license, a state ID, a passport or a "free voter ID card," according to the Georgia Secretary of States Office.
The free voter ID card can be issued at the County Board of Registrar's office or Georgia Department of Driver Services Office and is a valid photo ID on the election.
It's important to note that your driver's license does not need to be issued by the State of Georgia. Georgia law allows "any valid state or federal government-issued photo ID" to be used at the polls.
A student ID from a Georgia public college or university can be utilized to vote. But if you are a student at Mercer or Wesleyan, you won't be able to use your student ID at the polls.
