More than 2.7 million Georgians have voted ahead of Election Day | These are the demographics

The Secretary of State's Office said 1 out of every 3 active voters have cast their ballot as of Saturday.

ATLANTA — Georgia voters are showing up in big numbers across the state as we head into the last week of early voting.

As of Saturday night, Georgia's Secretary of State's Office reported 2,791,185 votes have been cast between absentee voting and in-person early voting.

On Saturday, 162,446 people showed up to vote in person, just slightly down from 164,695 votes cast a week ago.

This is the last weekend before early voting ends on Nov. 1.

Let's take a look at the top 10 counties when it comes to in-person voting: 

  1. Fulton County 291,719
  2. Cobb County 202,486
  3. Gwinnett County 199,729
  4. Dekalb County 186,790
  5. Cherokee County 80,252
  6. Forsyth County 79,582
  7. Henry County 71,156
  8. Chatham County 62,906
  9. Clayton County 54,989
  10. Hall County 53,732

Several counties have crossed the 50% threshold of active voters who have voted with six days still to go in early voting. Those counties are:

  • Towns County - 58% 
  • Rabun County - 51%
  • Dawson County - 51%
  • Union County - 51%
  • Oconee County - 51%
  • Greene County - 51%
  • Forsyth County - 50%
  • Fayette County - 50%

As for race, gender and age when it comes to early voting turnout, the breakdown looks like this: 

 Race/Ethnicity 

  • White voters 1,616,565 (45%)
  • Black voters 704,561 (34%)
  • Other/Unknown 245,892 (33%)
  • Hispanic 67,409 (22.6%)
  • Asian/Pacific Islander 64,315 (31%)
  • American Indian or Alaskan Native 11,655 (22%)

 Gender 

  •  Female 55.7% 
  • Male 44.1%

Age Group

As of Saturday night, 60-64-year-olds are outvoting every other age group. If you take a broader look at the age groups leading the pack in early voting it's really the 50-79 year old's who have shown up in high numbers. 

Creeping up on those age ranges are 18-24-year-olds who are making up 21% of the votes cast so far in this election. 

Don't forget, unlike Election Day, you can vote at any precinct within your county during early voting.
